Training and Certification
ITAMOrg Training & Certification
ITAMOrg offer, via a network of Authorized Training Organizations (ATO’s), a range of certification courses which helps to improve awareness and competencies in all areas of IT Asset Management.
The first course, Software Asset Management Specialist (SAMS) was introduced from ITAMOrg in 2014 and was recently (Q3 2020) been updated to support the ISO 19770-1:2017 standard and ITIL 4. The course is available also as e-learning.
The ITAM Foundation course is available both as classroom training and e-learning and from select ATO’s as virtual classroom. A workbook is availble from Van Haren Publishing webshop in hardcopy and as e-book.
The Hardware Asset Management Specialist (HAMS) course and certification will be available in Q1 2021.
Certification at both Foundation level and Practitioner level is provided in collaboration with Van Haren Learning Solutions.
IT Asset Management Foundation Certification – ITAMF (Available)
The purpose of the ITAM Foundation Certification course is to give participants a basic understanding of the importance of IT Asset Management, how the different areas relate to other functions and departments. In addition, the relation between ITAM and other best practice areas and standards will be highlighted.
The course also is available via e-learning which makes it ideal to spread knowledge and awareness of ITAM across departments and divisions in the organization.
Software Asset Management Specialist Certification – SAMS (Available)
The ITAMOrg SAMS Certification course has the purpose of giving the participant a basic understanding of the development and control of the software asset life cycle in its entirety, from software is acquired till it leaves through retirement or re-deployment. The SAMS course puts an emphasis on using the existing knowledge & processes within the IT organisations such as incorporating SAM with IT Services Management Best Practice, ISO Standards and existing Governance and Project models.
NEW! The course is updated with support for ISO 19770-1:2017 and ITIL 4.
Hardware Asset Management Specialist Certification – HAMS (available)
The HAMS Certification gives participants an understanding of the hardware life cycle – from planning over acquisition to control and disposal of hardware. In addition, this course will cover the tight relation that exists between hardware and software in managing these types of assets. The module also covers specifically Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).
NEW! The course is updated with support for ISO 19770-1:2017 and ITIL 4 is now available.
Services (& Cloud) Asset Management Certification – SEAM (Availability date not scheduled):
The purpose of the SEAM Certification is to give participants an understanding of the complexity in managing services and cloud. Aspects covered in this course include Contract Management, Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) including penalties for breach of SLA’s and contingencies to put in place in relation to Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
People & Information Asset Management Certification – PINAM (Planning for development)
The PINAM Certification is intended to give an understanding People and Information Assets. Data is the most valuable asset in an organization and access to data is a key enabler for providing the value to the organization. Governance of these Asset types ties into the security frameworks and ISO standards and must also tie into management of the other asset categories.
IT Asset Management Advanced Certficiation – ITAMA (No planned release date)
The ITAMA Certification is the top-level certification for ITAM Governance.
ITAM is the foundation for basically all business functions in the Digital age and for the CIO level in the organization is i crucial to have a birds-eye view on the current state and future state of all asset types, interrelations, etc. Top-level ITAM Managers typically reside in the CIO office or in Finance and with strong ties to the PMO and the business.
